...Wiem już, że w tym sezonie dostanę jeszcze kilka występów w piątkowych treningach, jednak nie jest jeszcze jasne podczas których weekendów - powiedział Kubica. - Sytuacja jest bardzo dynamiczna, a kompletny kalendarz F1 został potwierdzony dopiero niedawno. Zespół chce poświęcić trochę czasu na ocenę kilku rzeczy w kontekście przebiegu wyścigów i naszych celów. Ale tak, prawdopodobnie wskoczę do samochodu podczas kilku treningów w dalszej części sezonu. Będąc kierowcą rezerwowym, musisz być przygotowany. Jednak wskoczenie do auta w trakcie sezonu, kiedy inni ścigają się regularnie, nie jest proste. Widzieliśmy to na przykładzie Nico. Wykonał świetną robotę, ale pierwszy weekend nie był dla niego łatwy.

Wiele osób zapomina, że wyścigi to realny sport. Sport, w którym osiągasz lepsze wyniki, gdy trenujesz. Dlatego nigdy nie jest łatwo wsiąść do samochodu, gdy nie zaliczasz pełnego sezonu. Wiedzieliście to również podczas moich występów w Austrii i na Silverstone, kiedy brałem udział w FP1 w trakcie drugich weekendów na tych torach. Byłem jedynym, który jechał tam w tym roku po raz pierwszy. Wszyscy inni ścigali się tydzień wcześniej. W takiej sytuacji zawsze będziesz z tyłu. Nie masz wiedzy, którą oni już zdobyli. Tak samo z zastąpieniem kogoś w trakcie sezonu. Nie jest łatwo, ale taka jest moja rola. Nie mogę powiedzieć, że na to czekam, ponieważ oznaczałoby to, iż coś stało się któremuś z kierowców, a tego nie chcę. Jednak w dzisiejszych czasach istnieje ryzyko i taka sytuacja może się pojawić...
