Zaczęliśmy dość dobrze, ale zarządzanie podczas wszystkich neutralizacji na przestrzeni wyścigu było skomplikowane. Mieliśmy nieco szczęścia z momentem, w którym na początku pojawił się samochód bezpieczeństwa, co zmniejszyło naszą stratę i pozwoliło objąć prowadzenie. Jednak kolejne wyjazdy zmniejszyły naszą przewagę nad drugim miejscem. Utrata prowadzenia w wyniku tłoku na torze była pechowa, ale takie są wyścigi. Ostatecznie druga pozycja to maksimum, na jakie było nas stać, choć zawsze pozostaje niedosyt, gdy kończy się tuż za zwycięzcą. Generalnie przejechaliśmy czysty wyścig w porównaniu do rywali i utrzymywaliśmy dobre, równe tempo, co zaowocowało drugim miejscem. To znakomity początek sezonu i historyczny dzień dla Ferrari - Robert Kubica po wyścigu w Qatarze.
